Clinical Mandate Signs of Neglect and Abandonment:
A
Elderly and dependent neglect occurs from a neighbor, self, or from a caretaker who is not doing what they need to do
Typical signs of neglect and abandonment include physical abuse, financial abuse, medical abuse (medications), and social isolation (withholding mail or not letting them talk to others)
A SW must report these behaviors to adult protection services (APS)
