Dissociative disorders
Pt avoids stress by escaping from their identity but still has intact sense of reality. Includes: dissociative amnesia, dissociative identity disorder (fka multiple personality disorder) depersonalization/derealization disorder

Dissociative amnesia
an inability to recall past experience w/out an underlying neurological disorder, often linked to trauma. In severe forms, it may involve dissociative fugue, a sudden change in location that may involve the assumption of a new identity.

Dissociative identity disorder (DID)
Formerly Multiple Personality Disorder The occurrence of 2 or more personalities that take control of a person’s behavior. Happens when the components of identity fail to integrate.

Depersonalization/derealization disorder
involves feelings of detachment from the mind and body (depersonalization) or from their surroundings (derealization)

Somatic symptom disorder

are patterns of inflexible, maladaptive behavior that cause distress or impaired functioning in min x2 of the following: cognition, emotions, interpersonal functioning, or impulse control. They occur in 3 clusters: A, B and C.
