Puberty <8 females and <9 males

AF
Hypercholesteraemia

What are features of sebacious cysts?
Occur in scalp, neck, back
Typically have a punctum
What are features of Alport Syndrome?
Inherited nephritis with sensorineural deafness
Ocular abnormalities
What are criteria for weight loss surgery?
BMI >40
Or
BMI 35-40 with co-morbidity that can be improved with weight loss e.g. diabetes
What are the main criteria for malignant melanoma?
Change in size, shape , colour
Diameter >7mm, inflammation, oozing/bleeding, altered sensation
What is the management of bladder cancer?
superficial/carcinoma in situ- Intravesical BCg, TURBT with cystoscopy
Invasive- radial cystectomy and formation of ileal conduit
T4//recurrent- chemotherapy (palliative)
What is macular hole?
Blurred vision
Small black patch in centre of vision
What is congenital adrenal hyperplasia?
Excessive secretion of androgens and lack of cortisol
Leads to raised ACTH causing hyperadrenism.
Treat with hydrocortisone
What is choriocarcinoma?
Malignant germ cell tumour that secretes HCG
Extremely responsive to methotrezate combination chemo
What is the management of Hirschsprung disease?
Initially rectal washout and bowel irrigation to prevent enterocolititis
Definitive management- surgery
Which women require high dose folic acid in pregnancy?
Obese BMI>30
Either partner with NTD, previous pregnancy NTD or FH NTD
Anti-epileptic, coeliac, diabetes, thalassaemia
What are features of aortic regurgitation?
Early diastolic murmur
Collapsing pulse
Wide pulse pressure
Quinckes sign- nailbed pulsation
De Musset- head bobbing
