What is a section 5(4)?
Nurse an detain patient in hospital for 6 hours
What is Hartnup disease?
Autosomal recessive disease causing defective renal and intestinal absorption of amino acids
Present with episodic neurological and dermatological features which progress over several days before spontaneous remission
Cutaneous sides normally precede neurological signs
What are causes of pancreatitis?
Idiopathic
Gallstones
Ethanol
Trauma
Steroids
Mumps
Autoimmune
Scorpion venom
Hypercalcaemia, hypothermia, Hyperlipidaemia
ERCP
Drugs
- Oestrogen, diuretics, HIV drugs
What are features of Hallux valgus?
Seen in adolescents or elderly
Bilateral deformity of the foot. Toes deviated outwarsd from midline
What are ALARM 55 features?
Patient >55 with weight loss and one of the following
Upper abdo pain
Dyspepsia
Reflux
Or if signs of
-upper abdo mass
- GI blood loss
- persistent vomiting
- weight loss
- difficulty in swallowing
What are clinical features of thyroid storm?
Tachycardia
Fever
AF
Heart failure
Diarrhoea
Vomiting
Dehydration
Jaundice
Agitation
Delirium
Coma
What are symptoms of chlamydia?
Commonly asymptomatic
May get abnormal discharge
Postcoital bleeding
Dysuria
Pelvic pain
What are features of monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance?
Pre malignant disorder which can progress to MM
It is asymptomatic
Presence of monoclonal M protein in serum or in urine
Which HER 2 receptor treatment can cause cardiotoxic side effects?
Trastuzumab
Which aromatase inhibitor can can cause osteoporosis?
Anastrozole
What are features of HIV seroconversion?
Sore throat
Lymphadenopathy
Malaise/ myalgia. arthralgia

Maculopapular rash- on upper torso

What are features of Corticobasal degeneration?
Parkinson plus syndrome
Parkinsonism
Difficulty controlling limbs- alien hand
