Painful menses
Heavy periods
Chronic pelvic pain
Dyspareunia
Infertility in 10 %

Find boggy enlarged uterus which can be tender

A

US or MRI

If pregnancy not desired- hysterectomy

What are the 3 phases of CML?

A

Chronic phase- easily controlled
Accelerated phase- transitional/unstable course
Blast crisis- aggressive and normally fatal

Allogeneic bone marrow transplant is curative but has high mortality so only for patients who have a suitable donor

- hyperkalaemia

- metabolic acidosis

What are features of HSP?

A

Autoimmune vasculitis that commonly follows throat/URTI infection

Palpable purpuric rash (on buttocks and legs), GI symptoms, joint pains and glomerulonephritis

Investigation- urine for haematuria/proteinuria

Histopathology- leukocytoclastic vasculitis or IgA deposits
