Define ‘ adaptation’
The process of changing so an animal or organism can become better suited to its surrounding environment
State five examples as to how camels have adapted to their surroundings.
- big feet pads so they don’t sink
- humps for water / food storage
- long eyelashes to prevent sand getting in their eyes
-thick lips to eat prickly sticks and bones - thick fur to insulate
What are behavioural adaptations to animals
This involves how the type of acts to increase survival

Possums could play dead around predators
What are structural adaptations?
Structural / physical body features

Thick blubber on whales for insulation

Processes occurring within the body

What are extremophiles?
These are organisms that are adapted to live ´ extreme habitats, like extreme temperatures or darkness
State an example of an extremophile.
An angler fish lives in extreme darkness and have bioluminescent bacteria in their lure, producing light.
