Q

describe main events in the P wave period of the cardiac cycle

A
  1. atrial depol -> atrial contraction -> atrial P ↑
  2. AV valves are open
  3. left ventricular P is lower in order for the blood to flow from atria to venticle
  4. aortic valve must be close to allow ventricular filling

Q

describe what is Isovolumetric contraction?

A

we are talking about the left ventricle when both aortic valve and mitral valve are closed and the volume inside the ventricle is not changing but the ventricular pressure ↑ bcs. there is contraction of the ventricular muscle

Q

when can we hear S1 sound?

A

durring isovolumetric contraction
closure of the AV valves
due to Turbulant flow

Q

describe main events in the ejection period of the cardiac cycle

A
  1. left entricular P becomes higher than the aortic P -> aortic valve opens -> blood flows to aorta
  2. pressure in aorta and LV continue to ↑ until 120 mmHg
  3. left atria is being filled again
  4. at the end of ejection aortic valve closes
