When are CAD move-ups implemented?
when there is one or more 2 truck halls operational w/i City of Brampton
Approx. how many minutes have been allotted for dispatched move-up apparatus to arrive at assigned stations or w/i response zone of vacant station?
9-13 minutes
What is the 9-13 minute window window based on?
- 4-6 minutes allowing 1st response apparatus to arrive on scene
- 1-2 minutes to allow 1st apparatus to give initial report/ est. command
- 4- 5 minutes allowing move-up apparatus to arrive at vacant station or response area
What are 2 of the duties of the DC in regards to notifying Communications? (2)
- out of service apparatus
2. apparatus movements (scheduled training/ maintenance)
How do Comm-op notify apparatus in station or “on-air”? (2)
- use Alert Tones for stations and announce “Attention for Standby” followed by further instructions
- may or may not use alert tones depending on radio traffic, may use paging system (MDU)
What are the criteria that necessitates CAD system move-ups? (6)
- command established and other responding apparatus are not released
- command established and is committed to emergency operation
- when returning apparatus are “out of service
- when apparatus are taken “Out of Service” for dept. business (training, mech. prob.)
- when numerous calls received report serious emergency
- on scene crew arrive and advises “patient VSA, starting defib protocol”
What criteria allows for manual move-ups?
once there is only one truck available at each station.
What is provided when one truck covers two stations?
Acceptable and optimal coverage
