What is an unprotected exposure? (3)
A
- tissue under skin (bite that breaks skin)
- body fluid in contact w/ non-intact skin (cut, chapped, abraded skin)
- body fluid in contact with mucous membrane (eyes, nose, mouth, lungs)

What is a High Risk Source? (8)
A
- IV drug/ alcohol abuser
- homeless population
- recent international travel
- sex worker
- blood transmission 1978- 1985
- current/ recent imprisonment
- infants born to HIV+ women
- recent exposure to HIV, Hep, TB, COVID-19, any contagious respiratory illness

What are duties of personnel in regards to unprotected medical exposure? (3)
A
- report a possible unprotected exposure to immediate supervisor
- seek immediate medical care if req’d
- complete a WIIR
