What shall being attempted when passing slower traffic?
pass on left
What setting should engine brake be set at?
high setting
What type of weather should be considered in switching the engine brake setting to low/ off?
snow/ ice
What is to be utilized on the apparatus when responding to emergencies? (3)
- sirens
- air horn
- emergency lights
When is driving in opposing traffic permissable?
only when absolutely necessary
WHat shall be used when drivers negotiate tight forward turns and restrictive height clearances?
spotters
Why must drivers slow down prior to reaching an intersection? (2)
- get a good view of siutation

What steps to be taken when crossing intersection on green signal? (4)
- slow down
- take foot off accelerator and cover brake pedal
- look in all 3 directions and be aware of oncoming vehicles turning in front of apparatus
- proceed with caution
What precautions shall be adhered to when crossing on red signal/ stop sign? (4)
- come to complete stop
- establish eye contact w/ drivers
- wait for Captain to communicate it is all clear
- apply a 2 second count and then proceed
