When is a water tanker shuttle needed?
- no hydrants available and more water needed than available on initial responding apparatus
What are safety considerations for drivers of water tanker? (5)
- be aware that water tankloads can shift and cause significant instability
- avoid poorly constructed roads
- cautionary speed signs should be considered max. speed for tanker
- avoid driving on shoulders
- when possible, have at least one FF accompany tanker driver
