Occurrence ethiology and epidemiology?
A
OCCURRENCE, ETIOLOGY AND EPIDEMIOLOGY
- Worldwide occurrence, sporadic, more frequent in tropical countries
- Caused by Avibacterium paragallinarum A, B, C (Hemophilus paragallinarum)
- NAD and CO2 are needed for culture
- Virulence variants
- Low resistance, but survives in water
- Only hens are susceptible, Susceptibility increases with age
- Sudden appearance, fast spread in the whole flock, carried by recovered animals
- No germinative infection
- Predisposing factors are needed for infection (fac. Pathogen)
- Laying, infections

- Antibiotics ʹ bacterium carriers remain
- Prevention of introduction
- Vaccines ʹ inactivated, at age of 6-10 weeks 2 times, serotype specific protection
