Se disser apenas “I met my mother”, significa que você a conheceu, o que é estranho, pois podem pensar que você é adotado, por ex, e acabou de conhecer sua mãe verdadeira…
Para usar met no sentido de encontrar, obrigatoriamente, tem que dizer hora e/ou lugar.
