when a fire system test is carried out, what will sound ?
Visual Push Button Annunciators PBA’s will cause announciations and messages to be displayed, aural bells and voice message warnings to initiate

-fire bell will sound
-ENG FIRE or JETPIPE OVERHEAT message on the CWP in red
-Aural warning JETPIPE OVERHEAT
-both ENG FIRE BOTTLE 1 and 2 ARMED PUSH TO DISCH PBAs will come on on the glaresheild. if pushed it will discharge

the ECAM panel in the cockpit
if the flightcrew tests the APU fire detection for more than 3 seconds wjilst on ground, what will bappen ?
the APU will automatically shut down
where can the APU fire detection system tests be initiated?
inside the cockpit and some aircraft also have an external APU maintenance panel
when a fire is detected in the cargo area, how do the extinguishing fire bottels discharge?
one at a time
when are lavatory smoke detectors tested ?
during the pre flight checks by groundcrew and aircrew
how are lavatory smoke detectors tested ?
tested with test button on the smoke detector, a sound will be made and an alarm light unit from the unit itself. there is also a message sent to the flight deck EICAS display ‘SMOKE TOILET’
how are waste paper bin fire extingushers tested?
they have no test facility, however they will automatically discarge at 77C and will send a message to the flight deck ‘LAV FIRE’ with triple chime warning
