What is bladder fuel tanks made from ?
Made from reinforced flexible material
How are bladder tanks installed ?
The tank or fuel cell is rolled up and placed into the structural bay or cavity through a a small opening where it is unrolled to it’s full size
How are bladder tanks attached ?
With dedicated fastening devices.
What conditions should a bladder tank have when fitted ?
Should lie smooth and unwrinkled in the bay
Where it is sat on raised internal structures such as ribs and frames support boards are fitted
What are advantages of bladder fuel tanks ?
Used on all sizes of aircraft
Strong
Long life with seams only around installed features such as the tank vents, sump drain, filler spout
