Unit 4: Bony Landmarks Flashcards
What are the bony landmarks of the clavicle? (3)
- Acromial end. 2. Sternal end. 3. Conoid tubercle.
What structures are associated with the acromial end of the clavicle?
Articulates with the acromion process of the scapula.
What does the sternal end of the clavicle articulate with?
Articulates with the sternum.
What structures are associated with the conoid tubercle?
The attachment site for the coraclavicular ligament.
What articulates with the glenoid fossa of the scapula?
It articulates with the head of the humerus.
What attaches at the coracoid process of the scapula? (4)
- Coracoclavicularis. 2. Short head of the biceps brachii. 3. Pectoralis minor. 4. Coracoclavicular ligement.
What articulates with the acromion process of the scapula? What attaches here?
- Clavicle. 2. Attachment site for the middle part of the deltoid.
What attaches at the scapular spine? What does it separate?
The deltoid and trapezius. It separates the supraspinous and infraspinous fossa.
What attaches at the medial border of the scapula? (3)
- The levator scapulae. 2. Rhomboid major and minor. 3. Serratus anterior.
What attaches at the superior border of the scapula?
Teres minor.
What attaches at the inferior angle of the scapula?
Teres major.
What attaches at the superior angle of the scapula?
Levator scapulae.
What structures are associated with the subscapular fossa of the scapula?
Fossa on the anterior scapula that holds the subscapularis.
What structures are associated with the supraspinious fossa of the scapula?
Fossa on the posterior surface that holds the supraspinatus.
What structures are associated with the infraspinous fossa of the scapula?
Fossa on the posterior surface that holds the infraspinous.
What attaches at the infraglenoid tubercle of the scapula?
The long head of the biceps brachii.
What structures are associated with the suprascapular notch of the scapula?
The passageway for the suprascapular nerve.
