- Hypersensitivity: rash, flushing, bronchospasm, and anaphylactic shock

- History: check for contraindications
- Physical: skin, heart and lung sounds, CNS, perfusion, VS, ECG
- Labs: clotting studies, renal and hepatic fx, CBC, occult blood in stool

Implementation

- Discontinue heparin if it is being given before admin of a thrombolytic agent
- Evaluate blood loss

- Institute within 6 hours after the onset of symptoms of acute MI
- Arrange to type and cross-match blood
