- Risk for unstable blood glucose r/t the use of insulin
- Imbalanced nutrition r/t metabolic effects of the drug
- Disturbed sensory perception r/t glucose levels
- Risk for infection r/t injections and disease process
- Risk for injury r/t potential hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia
- Ineffective coping r/t diagnosis and need for injection therapy
- Deficient knowledge regarding drug therapy

Implementation
A
- Use caution when mixing types of insulin
- Store in cool place away from sunlight
- Monitor pt during times of trauma or stress
- Monitor pt food intake
- Monitor pt exercise and activities
- Protect pt from infection
- Monitor pt for sensory losses
- Help pt deal with lifestyle changes
- Provide pt teaching
- Ensure pt is follwoing diet and exercise regimen
- Gently rotate vial
- Monitor response
