- Patients who develop atelectasis
- Patients undergoing diagnostic bronchoscopy
- Postoperative patients
- Patients with tracheostomies
-Illnesses such as: COPD Cystic fibrosis Pneumonia TB

Contraindications and Cautions
Contraindications:
acute bronchospasm
Caution:
- pregnancy/lactation
- peptic ulcer and esophageal varices (can make these illnesses worse)
