- Said intelligence was hereditary. Term eugenics
- Intelligence and preeminence were products of evolution
- Made 1st systematic attempt to measure intelligence

What were Francis Galton’s findings?
- No relation to social class

What did Bignet develop?
- Developed test for children
- Predicted school success
- Didn’t rank children, but identified people who required help
What did Lewis Terman do?
Standford-Binet IQ test
What did Henry Goddard do?
Translated Binet test into English and promoted mass testing
What do modern IQ tests show?
- Mental age is replaced with standardised score
- Development of sub-scales
What is the Flynn effect showing?
A generational increase in performance of perceptual tasks. Assumed to be an environmental effect from a continuously complicated world
