social learning theory Flashcards
what are the assumption of the social learning theory
our environment and our cognitive process interact to produce behaviour
environmental info is taken in and subject to meditational process in order to imitate we have to observe internalise ad imitate
what is role models core social learning theory and identification
identification is those that we associate with and we want to be lie them usually someone of high stats wealth power gender etc
those we identify with can act as as role models not teaching behaviour but rather influencing behaviour
in order to imitate a role model we need to observe internalise then model.
what is vicarious reinforcement
indirect reinforcement by obsevring others and how they are rewarded becos of doing ceatin actions positive vicarious reinforcement will lead to more people imitating and modelling the behaviour and ngative reinforcemnt will lead to less people obsevring internalised and modelling the behaviour
role of mediational processes
we pay attention to a behaviour done by a role model so we pay attention and observe just in case we want to imitate then we retain the memory and remember it just in case we want to imitate later on we then see if we have the ability to reproduce the behviour if we have the skills if we do we look at motivation and the consequence of doig the actiins
