A
- Expose and Palpate the chest to rule out trauma
- Ask about any history recent cardiac surgeries

A
- You do this EVERY TIME
- Expose and Palpate the chest to rule out trauma
- Auscultate all fields of the lungs

What do you do in Neurological?
A
- Inspect and Palpate the chest to rule out trauma
- Shine light in each eye to assess PEARL
(Pupils Equal and Reactive to light) - Perform a stroke test

What do you do in musculoskeletal?
A
- Inspect and Palpate the injury to rule out trauma

What do you do in Integumentary?
A
- Expose the affected location for signs of hives or a rash
- Ask about any previous risk to harmful materials

What do you do in GI / GU?
A
- Inspect and palpate the abdomen to rule out trauma
- Ask about food / fluid intake and urine / fecal output

What do you do in reproductive?
A
- If prudent, visually inspect the site and document findings
- Inquire about sexual history / potential risk factors

What do you do in physiological / social?
A
- Establish a rapport and redirect the patient if needed
- Do not be afraid to ask the patient if they “have a plan”
- Document findings
(attempting suicides are common in these)
