Lateral fragment is displaced inferiorly by weight of arm
Medial fragment is displaced superiorly by sternocleidomastoid muscle

Suprascapular nerves (medial, intermedial and lateral) may be damaged by superior movement of medial fragment 
Unopposed medial rotation at shoulder results in waiters tip deformity
