what are ethical issues?
.they arise when a conflict exists between participant’s rights and a researcher’s need to gain valuable and meaningful data

what is meant by informed consent?
.prospective participants should know what they are getting into eg -aims of the research, procedure, right to withdraw
what is meant by deception?
.deliberately misleading or withholding information from participants at any stage of the investigation means informed consent hasn’t been given
what is meant by protection from harm?
.particpants shouldn’t be placed in any more risk than they would be in their everyday lives, and should leave the experiment no different to how they entered wether that be physical or psychological harm
what is meant by right to privacy?
.participants have the right to control information about themselves
what is meant by confidentiality?
.this is the right to have any data about ourselves protected
