Physics Kinematics Flashcards
What are the four kinematic formulas?
Vf = vo + at Vf^2 = Vo^2 + 2ax X = VoT + .5at^2 X = (Vo + Vf) / 2
ACCELERATION MUST BE CONSTANT
What are the formulas for projectile motion?
time = Voy / g height = Voy^2 / 2g Range = Vox^2 sin (2* angle) / g
What are some key concepts for projectile motion?
The time is determined by the y direction.
Velocity in the x direction is the same as the initial velocity in the x direction.
Acceleration in the x direction is zero.
Acceleration in the y direction is gravity.
What is the max height and range for projectiles based on the angles?
45 degree will provide the max range.
90 degrees will provide the max height.
What is the velocity at the apex of a projectile motion problem?
The velocity in the y direction in zero. HOWEVER, the velocity in the x direction is not ZERO.
Relate constant velocity and net force.
Constant velocity means zero acceleration. Zero acceleration means zero net force.
What is the equation for force on a spring .
F = kx.
For an inclined plane, how to do you calculate f perp, f gravity, and force of acceleration?
Normal Force (Perp) : mg cos angle
Force due to gravity ( parallel): mg sin angle
acceleration : g sin angle.
What is the force of friction equation?
F = coefficient ( normal force)
What is the equation for centripetal force and acceleration?
acceleration is v^2/ r.
Force is mv^2/ r.
