Approach-approach: pick between two goods things.
Avoid- avoid: pick between two bad things.
Approach-avoid: picking something which has both positive and negative elements.

What are the three levels of psychological responses to stress?

A
  1. ACTH is secretes allowing the adrenal to produce cortisol for glucose release. Epinephrine is released to maintain level of awareness.
  2. Continued maintenance of hormones in the body to deal with stress.
  3. Body can no longer maintain the level of hormones and shuts down the response. Immune system begins to slow allowing for sickness.
