Management for Bleeding
A
- Monitor for signs of shock (hypotension, palpitations, diaphoresis, chills, weak, thready pulse)
- Occult blood
- Hematocrit, Hemoglobin, and Coagulation studies
NPO status, gastric decompression or lavage
Avoid NSAIDS to minimize GI bleeding
Vasopressin (Pitressin) - vasoconstricting drug)

Management for Perforation
A
- Replace lost fluids, blood, and electrolytes
- Administer antibiotics
- NPO status
- Gastric lavage or decompression
- Monitor for signs of septic shock
fever, tachycardia, anxiety
pain, lethargy
