Assessment:
Acute Pancreatitis

A
  1. Severe, continuous begins in mid epigastrium then LUQ radiating to the back
  2. Pain aggravated by eating after 1-2hrs
  3. Pain not relieved by vomiting and antacid
  4. Hypotension
  5. Flexion of the spine
  6. Abd guarding behavior
  7. Low grade fever
  8. Leukocytosis
  9. Respiratory distress

Chronic Pancreatitis

A
  1. Heavy, gnawing, occasional burning or crampy LUQ abd pain
  2. Malabsorption and weight loss
  3. Impaired protein and fat digestion
  4. Mild jaundice with dark urine
  5. Steatorrhea
  6. D.M.
