Done with spinal anesthesia

Nursing Care after Appendectomy
A
- Maintain pt flat on bed 6-8hrs (if with spinal anesthesia)
- High fowler’s position if without spinal anesthesia
- Monitor for return of sensation in the lower extremities
- NPO status until peristalsis returns
- Client ambulation after 24hrs
- Tell the client they can resume normal activities within 2-4 weeks
