Describe the pathogenesis of Mumps.

A

Inf. epithelial cells and replicates in nasopharynx/lymph nodes
12-25 days later – Viremia
In viremia goes to meninges, salivary glands, testis, etc.
Inflammation of infected tissues leads to characteristic symptoms
