Closely related to the hilum of the spleen and L colic flexure
Tail
Projection from the inferior part of head extends medially to the left posterior SMA
Uncinate process
Superior mesenteric + Splenic Vein
Formed BEHIND the NECK of the pancreas
PORTAL VEIN
BEHIND the TAIL of the pancreas
SPLENIC VEIN
Vessel found in the SUPERIOR part of the BODY and TAIL of the pancreas
SPLENIC ARTERY
Seen ANTERIOR to the 3rd part of the DUODENUM
SUPERIOR MESENTERIC ARTERY/VEIN
Extends through the entire length of pancreas
Joins BILE DUCT to form the HEPATOPANCREATIC AMPULLA
Empties into the duodenum
MAIN PANCREATIC DUCT
Lies in HEAD of the pancreas
Drains into the MAIN DUCT and MINOR DUODENAL PAPILLAE
ACCESSORY PANCREATIC DUCT
Blood Supply of the pancreas
Gastroduodenal (hepatic -celiac) – SUPERIOR PANCREATICODUODENAL ARTERY
SMA – INFERIOR PANCREATICODUODENAL ARTERY
splenic – PANCREATIC ARTERIES
