Continuation of the sigmoid sinus
Leaves the skull through the JUGULAR FORAMEN
INTERNAL JUGULAR VEIN
tributaries: inferior petrosal sinus pharyngeal SUPERIOR THYROID facial lingual MIDDLE THYROID
Union of internal jugular and subclavian vein
At the level of the inf border of the 1sr R costal cartilage, R and L unite to form SVC
BRACHIOCEPHALIC VEIN
tributaries: internal thoracic vertebral INFERIOR THYROID superior intercostal
Union of the R/L brachiocephalic veins
ends at the level of the 3rd R costal cartilage to enter the R atrium
SUPERIOR VENA CAVA
Connects SVC from IVC
Formed by the union of the R ascending lumbar and R subcostal veins
AZYGOUS VEINS
tributaries: hemiazygous accessory hemiazygous superior intercostal posterior intercostal mediastinal esophageal bronchial
