A

An idiopathic inflammatory arthritis that effects 4 joints or less

A

can often only affect 1 joint (monoarthritis)
Larger joints affected (knees and ankles)
More common in girls <6.
no systemic symptoms
ANA positive
rheumatoid factor negative

anterior uveitis

what are the signs of uveitis?

A
red eyes
headaches 
reduced vision
cataracts
glaucoma
blindless

Can progress into chronic uveitis.

what is the treatment for uveitis?

A

all patients with JIA are screened for uveitis within 6 weeks of diagnosis.

Topical steroids - systemic steroids - DMARDs - biologics.
