CSF findings in Acute Bacterial Meningitis
Pressure - ELEVATED
Protein - ELEVATED (100-500)
Glucose - ELEVATED
CSF findings in Viral Meningitis
Pressure - NORMAL or SLIGHTLY ELEVATED
Protein - ELEVATED but not as elevated like bacteria (50-200)
Glucose - NORMAL or DECREASED
CSF findings in Tuberculous Meningitis
Pressure - ELEVATED
Protein - ELEVATED (100-3000)
Glucose - <50%
This should be performed in all patients with suspected meningitis

INCREASED SERUM CRP
May be used to differentiate viral from bacterial meningitis
