What do beta blockers do?
They are a class of medication that lessen or block the effect of adrenaline/noradrenaline on the sympathetic nervous system
What are beta blockers used for?
HTN
Heart failure
Angina
Dysrhythmias
How do beta blockers work?
Beta receptors on the heart and lungs take in adrenaline and noradrenaline from the body. Beta blockers stop these receptors doing this .
Lowering heart rate, blood pressure.
