What is the main cause of COPD?
A
Smoking 40-70%

What is hypoxic drive
A
When normal people breath it is due ton carbon dioxide, causing your body to need oxygen.
COPD patients have a reduced ability to exhale carbon dioxide adequately, which leads to hypercapnia causing them to need oxygen.
