What is the definition of leadership?
process where an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal
What is leading versus managing?
managers “how to do it”, leaders inspire “what to do”
What are directive leadership behaviors?
clear formal authority, unstructured interesting tasks
What is supportive leadership behaviors?
simple/ predictable tasks, unclear formal authority
What is achievement-oriented leadership behaviors?
clear formal authority, unstructured complex tasks
What is participative leadership behaviors?
unstructured complex tasks, good or bad group cohesion

identify personality characteristics or interpersonal attributes to differentiate leaders from followers
