damage to fallopian tubes.
What hormone do males secrete?
testosterone

glycoprotein enzyme
what is tested to classify testicular carcinoma?
AFP, BHCG
what is the role of estrogen?
stimulates cell growth and proliferation in the endometrium
What is the role of progesterone?
promotes cell maturation and secretion
What are two forms of pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH)?
preeclampsia and eclampsia
What are symptoms of pregnancy induced hypertension?
edema, hypertension, proteinuria and DIC.
What is preeclampsia?
sudden development of hypertension with proteinuria and edema. Maternal blood flow to the placenta is decreased.
What is eclampsia?
may be life threatening as seizures, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), renal failure and uncontrollable hemorrhage may develop.
What is hydatidiform mole? and how if it detected?
a placental abnormality. Diagnosis is based on the observation of an enlarged uterus corresponding to the calculated length of pregnancy. High levels of urine and serum hCG are typically found.
What is choriocarcinoma and how if it detected?
a malignant trophoblastic tumor. found by very high levels of hCG.
