A
Beta hydroxybutyrate which is the predominate ketone in domestic animals

A
Hyperglycemia is present due to inadequate insulin
Results in glucosuria and ketonuria

Can be associated with normoglycemia or hypoglycemia
Horses do not readily produce ketones (Prefer VLDL)
