They didn’t want to have to pay off more debt than they had to because they had a lower debt. Or had none at all
How did Hamilton compromise with the southern states about the national debt?
He told them he would move the State Capital to the south
How does the U.S. capital differ from European capital?
The U.S. capital isn’t the most powerful state. If the U.S. capital gets destroyed the U.S. would still function, unlike our European counterparts.

- Farmers who fought in the Rev War didn’t get paid so they couldn’t pay for taxes.
- A law passed where the poor would pay as much as the rich.
- Goods weren’t accepted cause the tax collectors wanted cash.
- Farmers would be put into prison cause they didn’t pay their taxes.
