A
  • Over-sensitive to light, noise, being bumped.
  • Angry, may be delirious, have hallucinations.

General picture:

A
  • Intense symptoms with rapid onset.
  • Inflammation with redness, heat, throbbing pain, congestion.
  • Thirsty, may crave lemonade.
  • > lying down
  • < touch, jarring movement, at 3 pm.

Indications (if they fit the symptom picture):

A
  • Sudden onset of fever (can develop hallucinations) dilated, shining pupils, burning skin that is hot to the touch, both cheeks red and hot.
  • Migraine—extreme sensitivity of all senses, throbbing, right-sided frontal pain. Sparks / colours before eyes. > coffee.
  • Meningitis—similar symptoms to migraine above accompanied by high fever and hallucinations (use while seeking medical help).
  • Heatstroke / sunburn —scalding, hot to touch, cannot bear clothes to touch parts. Switch to apis when the blistering starts.

Case example 1:

A
  • 3-year-old girl develops a high fever associated with a middle ear infection.
  • She began talking to imaginary cartoon characters and giggling whilst laying on the bed with her head tilted backwards. Temperature at this stage was 40.3°C.
  • Belladonna 30C was given every 15 minutes for 1.5 hours.
  • Fever dropped to 39.8°Cin 15 minutes, 38.4°C in 30 minutes and down to 37.7°C after 1.5 hours.
  • The remedy was discontinued as the fever did not return and the ear infection cleared the next day.

Case example 2:

A
  • 5-year-old bulldog developed severe heatstroke due to being exposed to 41°C temperatures.
  • He was panting excessively and had difficulty swallowing his own saliva.
  • His tongue was extended and was extremely red and dry.
  • His eyes were shiny and he was extremely lethargic.
  • Belladonna 30C was added to a glass of water and the water was then spooned into his mouth every 10 minutes.
  • Within 45 minutes he was back to his normal self, getting up from where he had been lying for the last 3 hours to eat some food.
