Use:
A
Insect bites / bladder infections.

Mental picture:
A
- Restlessness (busy bee / worker bee).
- Irritable
- Feel forced to stay at home (the hive) and fulfil family demands.
- Jealous of those able to get out there and follow their ambitions.

General picture:
A
Symptoms characterised by:
* Swellings with oedema.
* Redness, burning / darting pain, stinging.
* Restlessness
* Lack of thirst.
* May be awkward or clumsy.
* > cool air, cold applications, cold drinks.
* < heat, touch, lying down, 4–6 pm.

Indications (if they fit the symptom picture):
A
- Bee stings or insect stings with redness, swelling (oedema), heat, pain.
- Urticaria—intolerable itching and burning, great sensitivity, colour changes from pink to purple.
- Cystitis / urethritis —scalding and urgent urination, constant need to urinate, burning pain, last drops sting and smart.
- Arthritis—acute inflammation with much stinging and burning (apitherapy).
- Shingles with intolerable itching at night.

Case example:
A
- A 3-year-old girl presented with symptoms of cystitis including burning on urination and restlessness (could not sit still).
- The child screamed whenever she had a bath (it seemed to increase pain and discomfort).
- Mother appeared quite controlling of her and reprimanded her throughout the consultation.
- Prescribed apis 200C every 3hrs for the first day, to be repeated once daily thereafter until symptoms subsided.
- Child improved within 4 hours of the first dose and progressively improved over the course of the day. Day 2 —remedy not needed.
