what is arthritis?
swelling and tenderness of joints.
what are the common symptoms of arthritis?
pain and stiffness in joints.
what treatment is available for arthritis?
no cure but treatment available.
treatment helps slows progression/ manage the condition.
what is coronary heart disease (CHD?)
fatty substances build up in coronary arteries (eg: cholesterol.)
what is CHD caused by?
poor diet.
lack of exercise.
what risks to an individuals health does CHD risk?
stroke- blood clot/ fatty build up, block blood from brain.
heart attack- heart stops receiving blood and stops.
burst artery- damaged walls due to pressure built upon them or build up of fatty substances.
what are the symptoms of CHD?
increased blood pressure.
heart palpitation.
fatigue/ lethargic.
dizzy/ headache.
cold/ tingly sensations.
increased pulse rate.
what are some examples of conditions that cause impairment: taste, vision and hearing?
taste: covid.
vision: glucoma- genetic, progressive, lack of eyesight. cataracts- hard film over eye. come back once removed.
diabetes.
hearing: infection.
tinnitus- hearing noise, high pitched. ringing.
