what are the different types of abuse and give an example?
- physical, hitting or slapping.
- emotional, fightned or frquently criticised.
- sexual, forced or coerced into sexual acts or exposure to sexual material.
- neglect, not recieving the care needed such as being loved, suitiable clothing, food and warmth.
what is financial abuse and who does it happend to?
happens to adults.
when money is taken from them by someone in the home or soemone that comes into the home.
what can financial abuse cause?
confusion and anxiety.
what can a loss of finance as a result of financial abuse lead to?
person unable to buy healthy food or heat their home, leading to physical illness.
what are the possible imapct of abuse?
- being withdrawn.
- being aggressive.
- having difficulty sleeping.
- being fightend or anxious.
- likelihood of frequent infections or being underweight if neglected.
- being physically hurt may result in burns, bruising or broken bones.
- low self-concept.
- displaying physical symptoms such as stomach aches or headaches.
what are the long-term impacts of being abused?
- permanent injuries from physical abuse caused by broken bones, scalds or burns.
- inability to form friendships and relationships in adulthood.
- makign poor life choices such as drugs or alcohol misuse.
- malnutrition or obesity through neglect.
- physical absue may cause permenant brain damage or death.
- having dleayed or restricted development.
- mental health conditions.
