Wat is een mellotron?

A

A sampling keyboard developed in the Uk in the 1960s.

Each key is connected to a tape with an 8 second recording. When you press a key, tha particular tape is played. Each tape has an authentic recording of the note played by the actual instrument.

The Mellotron sound are still used and loved today, becuase people love the imperfect sound of it.

Wie is Warsan Shire?

A

A young Kenyan-born, London-raised writer. She drafted a poem about the refugee experience in 2009 after spending time with a group of young refugees who had fled troubled homelands including Somalia, Eritrea, Congo and Sudan.

Shire was named the first young poet laureate for London, aged 24, and has won numerous awards; she also teaches workshops.
She has inspired a lot of people. Beyoncé is one them. She used Warsan’s poetry in some of her songs.

A

Indian-born (1992) Canadian poet, illustrator, photographer, and author.

Kaur rose to fame on Instagram and Tumblr through sharing her short visual poetry. She received widespread popularity after the publication of her debut book Milk and Honey (2014), wich went on to sell over 3 million copies worldwide and spent more than a year on the New York Times Best seller list.
