What is breathing control?
Breathing control is slow and deliberate inhales and exhales.
How to perform breathing control?
Breathing control can be performed in a ratio of 1:2 with the exhale on the double. In through mouth and out through the nose.
When to perform breathing control?
Breathing control can be performed directly before a performance, in breaks in play or as part of a daily routine.
Why do we use breathing control?
Breathing control has both psychological and physiological benefits.
Psychological: reduction of anxiety and arousal, increased concentration, confidence and well-being.
Physiological benefits: reduced muscle fatigue and chance of muscle cramps, increased oxygen transportation and co2 removal.
