• ticks, ruminants
Culture
• in vitro: not possible, no cell wall
Pathogenicity
• A. marginale: cattle anaplasmosis (anaemia), tropical and
subtropical countries
• A. ovis: sheep, goat anaplasmosis (anaemia)
• A. phagocytophilum: tickborne fever of ruminants, equine
granulocytic ehrlichiosis (oedema, lymphadenopathy)

• tissue cultures
