6 - INNATE 3 Flashcards
which cells have PRRs?
where are PRRs located?
what are the groups of PRRs
what are the two possible locations of TLRs?
intracellular or extracellular
intracellular ones bind to nucleic acids
extracellular: bacteria, parasites, fungi etc
bound to membranes, not just floating around
for intracellular TLRs they are bound to vesicles
what does TLR binding of PAMPs activate
involves many proteins
phosphorylation is a key event
leads to TF activation
adaptor proteins: MyD88 and TRIF
TFs: IRF3/7, NF-kB, AP-1
what are the general features of signal transduction
what are CLRs and what do they bidn
C-Type lectin receptors
only membrane bound on the cell surface
bind carbohydrates on pathogens and some allergens
what kind of cascade happens after CLR activation
what are RLRs and what do they bind
RIG-I-like receptors
inside of the cell
what do RLRs trigger and activate
RLRs bind to their PAMP and tell MAVS that this happened which triggers the cascade
what are NLRs and what do they bind
NOD-like-receptors
some can be floating some can be anchored to an endosome
can recognise and chop up pieces of bacteria that have peptidoglycan
what does NLR binding activate
