Self paced = penalty in football
Externally paced = in a regatta the sailor must react to the speed of wind and flow of current when performing a manoeuvre. And has to start race at the sound of the horn

A skill that has a clear beginning and ending
What is a serial skill
A skill that contains several discrete skills in order to make a more integrated movement
Example of a discrete skill
Tennis serve, a fast action where the player either stops and repeats if it goes out. Or if it goes in then change position to receive the next shot

Cycling, the actions of pedalling are repeated continuously until the task is completed
What is a continuous skill
a skill that has no clear beginning and end
Example of serial skill
Gymnastics, dance or trampoline routines
How are high organisation and low organisation skills categorised
How easily they can be broken down into parts, sub routines
What is a low organisation skill
A skill that is easily broken down into its subroutines
Examples of a low organisation skill
A swimming stroke because the arm action, leg action and body positioning can easily be identified and practised separately
