- More likely to have pre-existing medical conditions
- Higher risk of spontaneous abortion and stillbirth
- More likely to get gestational hypertension and diabetes
- Higher risk of congenital anomalies
- Increased risk of post-term pregnancy
- Increased likelihood of induced labor
- Increased risk of c-section, thromboembolism, infection from c-section
- Increased risk of post-partum hemorrhage
- Prolonged labor
- Macrosomic Infant
- Difficulty with locating fundus for fundal massage

Care Management
A
- Continuous FHR and Contraction Monitoring can be Difficult
- Larger OR tables, Extra-Large BP cuffs
- Routine procedures require more time
- TED Hose or Sequential Compression Devices (SCD)
- Heparin prophylaxis to prevent DVT
- Keep incisions clean and dry (wound healing can be more difficult)
